A QnA Interview with …Musa Msomi Who Is The Former Chair Person & a Newly Elected Eastern Reef Youth Committee Member
He is the second born of LC & SM
Msomi who minister at Rondelbult Assembles of God
1.
How was it like Growing up in a Christian Household?
I was born in a strict family; my
parents were uncompromising when it came to the Gospel & how we were going
to be cultures as children
2.
Describe Your Childhood
I was a child like all others and
quickly became disillusioned at the number of times we needed to attend church
in a week, but my mum and Dad were unrelenting in their ways.
Very quickly I towed the line without
knowing that an incorruptible has been planted in me and would soon germinate
I accepted Christ at the age of 16,
during that time we were attending Katlehong AOG, and a number of locals in
that area had reformed a cell group called Dawn Park, and one Night it was a
Youth Service during a alter call I was greatly convicted and I knew I could no
longer postpone accepting as Lord and Savior.
“Down Park played a pivotal Role in
grooming me to be what I am today, the foundation laid was solid and I often
remember those brethren fondly”
4.
The First time you were elected to serve in a Committee
I was first elected as a chairperson
of an interim committee at Rondelbult AOG, and that was a beginning of a
humbling leadership journey and growth in all spheres of my life
5. What is the one thing you love about the movement of the Assembles Of God & its way of worship
5. What is the one thing you love about the movement of the Assembles Of God & its way of worship
It has to be its Christ centered teachings and
emphasis on biblical principles which our worship model is based on.
6.
Seeing you are a very busy Man as an Advocate and a youth committee leader
how do you balance these two
Challenging as it maybe, it helps to know that
all things have their own time (Ecclesiastes 3:1) and thereafter to be
committed to doing each at its own time.
7. An
Advice to the youth on how to balance Career /studies &fellowship
Young people ought to first appreciate what God
has intended for their lives and thereafter to pursue it with all their might
which is drawn from Christ himself. In so doing they should also be disciplined
enough not to traverse God's principles ... Seek ye first the kingdom of God and
all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33), upon
careful analysis of this scripture you will realize that it doesn't say seek
only the kingdom ...which means once u have sought it there is room for you to
seek what comes next which is a career/ profession or wealth etc.
8.
What do you love the most about leading young people
It has to be the opportunity to impact other
people’s lives in manner which is meaningful in this world and the next.
Nothing is more painful than seeing young people living below what God has
intended for them. I therefore call upon all young people to excel in all areas
of their lives.

9. I
know you are a married now, but you have been single for quite a time so in your
own words please tell…How Can a young man keep his way Pure
By keeping Gods word in their hearts in order
not to sin against him. This answer seems very superficial but is as practical
as can be when implemented. Often the road is not as hard as we make it, let us
equip ourselves with the word of God and the Holy Spirit will guide us with the
rest.
10. What
advice would you give young people who desire to get married as well?
Take
delight in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm
37:4)
11. As
an eastern Reef youth Leader/Committee Member what do you aspire to achieve
with the youth you serve
That they may become a balanced Christian youth, be the light
of the world. A time has come for us to shine so that our father may be
glorified.
12. You
are Married to the lovely Ncebakazi Msomi….please describe your wife in 3 words

13. The Mission Approach I would suppose you used it haha please shortly sound off on it
It’s getting hot in here ...
The mission approach still has great value and I would encourage young people to use it. In its modern state it caters for a hopeless romantic such as me who asked that the pastor set up the meet at a place more conducive for the task at hand. Contrary to popular belief it is not outdated neither is it foolish.
14. Lastly
what advice would you give to other young people serving as leaders in local
churches as well as those who look up to you?
To all leaders, let us go beyond the call of
'leadership' and live such that the sand beneath our feet can bear testament
when we are long gone, that there was once X, Y and Z who lived worthy lives
and often went beyond the call of duty for Gods glory. Lead such that history
remembers you fondly.

1.
Please briefly tell on how the mini convention's Restoration message made an
impact in your life (what was said that blessed you)
This is the message that blessed and changed my life. I am
continually challenged to look at the church that was before me and
try to get the basics and get to live and walk as they did, by the
direction of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 1:15
Acts 2:14
Acts 3:18-21
* When we don't refer to the early church, we are doing our own things.
The book of Acts gives us a picture of what the church should look like.

Decision doesn't mean action, nothing happens by chance and
coincidence. In this life if you aim at nothing, nothing will be
achieved.
Restoration therefore, doesn't rely and stand on chance and

2. Life after ERY Mini – Convention, are you
restored if so in what way?
I wouldn't say I am fully restored, but I believe that God is
patiently restoring me to fullness. I have seen how I moved from
people that didn't really add some spiritual value in my life. My
speech has changed, my decisions are changing and my life is headed in
the right direction. There is progress.
3. What are your hopes, what you would love to see in your fellow Eastern Reef youth before or on our next? Gathering (in terms of spiritually growth & open air ministry)
I honestly would love to just listen and be built by the sound
doctrine that comes from a mouth that has been prepared specially by
God, big Revelations kept us excited and amazed, but the truth sets us
free. We grow easily. Since the convention, the song "And Africa will
be saved..." has been in my heart. Open airs should definitely be
done. I love nothing but to see people come and become Disciples of
Christ.
I have been praying almost every day for what Dr. O . Hletha said we
should pray for:
1. Families
2. Spiritual leadership
3. Political leadership and governance
4. Beloved brethren or the church and
5. Myself.

1. After you saw the poster and theme Restoration of God's work and beyond 2015 what came to mind? And what were your expectations?
The topic/theme was great because as a young person in the Assemblies Of God Movement, we have been and still are taught many lessons, but we don't implement
I expected restoration of all the things forgotten in this Christian journey and just to fellowship with other brethren
2. Please briefly testify
on how the Restoration message impacted you (scriptures /message)
I
was blessed by the basics of salvation which are:
Genuine
salvation
Be
Holy Spirit filled
Being
compliant with the word of God
Witnessing
for Christ Jesus
3. Life after
Mini, are you being restored as individual
Yes, each and every day that comes I see the greatness of God.
4. And finally your hopes -
what would you love to see in your fellow ER Youth before or on the next
gathering?
To
be young people who know their purpose in life. To serve God not only when
we fellowship, but individually as well. To portray the Christ like character
in our lives and be witnesses that Jesus is Lord and He is able to save a
young person in this generation.

1, What
impacted you most in terms of the word and activities?
The
power of revelations that were delivered, acknowledgement of our internal
talent and appreciation of good work done by our seniors has impacted me a lot
since it made me see how important it is for us as a church to show
how grateful we are to those who are serving
whole heartedly in the house of the Lord.
2,What
do you think the restoration message has built in the church, what difference
has it made in the church?
The
restoration message has brought a whole different perspective on the way we
perceive restoration. It has shown us that before we can move forward, we need
the basics in place, and then we can move forward. The church is now having a
strong revelation in terms of what God wants and the word has brought
conviction to many of us who thought we know how to do things yet we missed the
true word of God that is directing us.
3, Quote
galvanizing words from the speakers that are still echoing in your ears or
rather in your heart.
All
that we do is done by faith, for faith is the way of receiving from God” Mr N
Sibiya
“Mine
is to restore, yours is to return” Dr. O Hleta
4, What impact has this year’s
message made in your life as an individual?
It
has given me power to serve the Lord with all that I have, knowing what he
wants and how he wants me to do things in his house and in the community as a
whole.
5, What are your views concerning the Mini-Convention apart
from the word and activities?
The convention catered for different fields, aspects
and generations in our church, which is a good thing. The leadership
did a great job with all the planning and the turn out of the convention was
great as many of us felt that it was Spirit filled and well prepared.
6, Do you think that as young people we are ready to go out and preach the gospel, dominating areas?
I
think we are ready because God has risen in us dynamic young people who are
baptized and gifted by the Spirit to deliver the true word of God without fear
as we can see that many young people are joining the ministry in our church.
